You will even have the chance to ride the proverbial dromedary caravan and hike like a true desert nomad to Erg Chebbi with its sand dunes. Pick up at the Hotel or Raid where you’re staying in Fes at 9:00 in the morning to start the route to the Merzouga Sahara Desert. We will begin the journey to the desert crossing the university city of Ifrane, better known as the “Moroccan Switzerland” and for being one of the favorite cities of the King of Morocco together with the landscapes of the Atlas until we reach the Ziz Valley, an extensive palm grove.
We will continue towards the desert until we reach the impressive Dunes of Merzouga, where we will change our transport for a caravan of dromedaries that will take us to the Luxury camp in a one hour journey. We will make a stop halfway to watch the sunset over the dunes and stretch our legs a bit before continuing to the camp. Once there, we will have a hospitality tea and we will have the opportunity to climb the great dune or the small dunes that are near the camp site. Enjoying the Berber drums music while dancing around the campfire, under the open sky of million stars. Dinner overnight stay in a luxury camp.
If you’re not a sleepy person, wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise and without losing the opportunity to see a sunrise that is enjoyed like that in few places. After breakfast, we will say goodbye to the desert and return with the dromedaries to the place where our transport awaits us to take the route to Fes passing through the Ziz Valley, crossing the mountains of the Middle Atlas, we will reach the cedar forests where the macaques live in freedom. Once past the city of Ifrane, better known as the “Moroccan Switzerland” we will arrive in Fes, transfer to your Hotel or Raid and end our services in Fes.
