The 4 days Trip to Marrakech by hand of Merzouga Fantastic. After breakfast we pick up at the Hotel or Riad where you’re staying in Marrakech. The first day of the tour goes from Marrakech over the High Atlas Mountains with steep, winding roads, crossing the Tizi N’tichka pass at 2260M above the sea level. The high mountain pass offers stunning views of mountain landscapes.
After crossing the mountains we will reach one of the highlights of the tour, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. It’s a fortified village along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. Due to its ancient historic look a number of world famous movies shot in Morocco have used Ait Ben Haddou as a location. The route continues through the Valley of Thousand Kasbahs the Dades Valley, where we will spend the night.
After breakfast, we will start our tour along the banks of Boumalne Dades, in a road surrounded by kasbahs, whose landscape is ocher, red and mauve. After a journey full of oasis and palm trees we will arrive at Tinghir, where the spectacular Todra Gorges are perched at 1,350M altitude and surrounded by a palm. After lunch, we continued to the Sahara Desert of Merzouga through Erfoud.
When we reach the Erg Chebbi sand dunes you switch to camels, to cross the heart of the Sahara desert. Then a stop will be made for you on top of a big dune to observe the fantastic sunset. Then continue to the camp which is a combination between the traditional tents of nomads and the luxury Camp. In the campsite you can enjoy the Berber drums music while dancing around the campfire, under the open sky of million stars. Dinner Overnight stay in the camp.
If you’re not a sleepy person, wake up early in the morning to enjoy the beautiful sunset in the deep of the dunes. Return with the dromedaries to the place where you are waiting for you. We will go to Rissani, to visit Rissani town, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani is still a major trading center in the region, with a large souk lively on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Then we take the road to Ouarzazate through the Draa Valley, one of the longest rivers in Morocco. Ouarzazate where we will spend the night.
The last day of your 4 days and 3 Nights Trip from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert returns to Marrakech. After breakfast at the hotel, there will still be time to visit one more monument, the spectacular kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. One of the largest and best preserved in southern Morocco. Your visit will allow you to appreciate its careful decoration with adobe bricks on the outside and with plaster work and colored tiles in different passages inside.
After the visit, we will hit the road again to complete the last 195 km that separate us from Marrakech. To get to the Red City Marrakech we will cross the Atlas through the Tizi N’tichka pass, remembering the green landscapes and the Berber villages of the first day. End of our services in Marrakech.
