Pick up at the Hotel or Raid where you’re staying in Fes at 9:00 in the morning to start the route to the Merzouga Sahara Desert. We will begin the journey to the desert crossing the university city of Ifrane, better known as the “Moroccan Switzerland” and for being one of the favorite cities of the King of Morocco together with the landscapes of the Atlas until we reach the Ziz Valley, an extensive palm grove. We will continue towards the Desert until we reach the impressive Dunes of Merzouga, where we will change our transport for a caravan of dromedaries that will take us to the Luxury camp in a one hour journey.
We will make a stop halfway to watch the sunset over the dunes and stretch our legs a bit before continuing to the camp. Once there, we will have a hospitality tea and we will have the opportunity to climb the great dune or the small dunes that are near the camp site. Enjoying the Berber drums music while dancing around the campfire, under the open sky of million stars. Dinner Overnight stay in a luxury camp.
If you’re not a sleepy person, wake up early in the morning to see the sunrise and without missing the opportunity to see a sunrise that in few places is enjoyed like that. After breakfast, we will say goodbye to the Desert Sahara and return with the dromedaries to the place where our transport awaits us to take the route to the Dades Valley, we will go to Rissani, one of the oldest markets in Morocco and it is the former commercial capital of the country.
If the weather allows it and if it is market day, we can make a stop to witness the local commercial exchanges. After a journey we will arrive at Tinghir, where the spectacular Todra Gorges are located. The Todra riverbed has formed a gorge with vertical walls of enormous proportions and great beauty; It is a paradise for climbers and a unique place, perched at 1,360 meters of altitude. After breakfast, we continued our trip to Kalaa M’gouna, to visit the Rose valley. A rose Festival is held annually in May. Where the locals offer their rose products from perfumes, rose water oil to cosmetic products. We then drive through the palm groves of Skoura. Later we reached Ouarzazate, also known as the gate of the Desert. We will visit the studios, in which famous movies were shot. Thereafter we departed to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou.
A fortified village recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Furthermore, Kasbah has appeared in many movies including Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy…etc. And TV series including Game Of Thrones.Then we continue to Marrakech driving through the Tizi N’tichka pass, and also the spectacular High Atlas Mountains. Stops will be made for lunch, and to take pictures at interesting spots. We will arrive in Marrakech, transfer to your Hotel Or Raid and end our services in Marrakech.
